Insurance Licensing Program

Since 1988, Lewis Financial Services Institute has been offering state-approved prelicensing courses to professionals in the financial services industry.

Along with scheduled courses in Life Insurance, Accident, Sickness & Health Insurance, Medicare Supplement & Long-Term Care Insurance, Property Insurance and Casualty Insurance (click here to view our class schedule), we also offer continuing education and securities training classes. While most in-class courses may run about three days each, continuing education courses run for the number of credit hours assigned to the course.

Maximizing Your Learning

After registering for a course, Lewis Financial Services Institute students are provided with appropriate course materials and the NC Candidate Guide at no additional cost. (Computer-based training aids may be available.) At the end of each class day, review sessions are conducted along with a final review prior to the state exam. For students requiring more help, tutorial sessions are also available by appointment.

Final exams are administered to all prelicensing students at the end of the course. Students must achieve a passing score of 70% or better to receive their certificate of course completion. (There are no exams given for the in-class continuing education courses. However, students are required to attend the class in its entirety.)

At Lewis Financial Services Institute, our mission is to provide the best in insurance and continuing education services. That's why any student who fails the state exam can retake the class at no additional cost within 30 days of completing the initial class.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Lewis Financial Services Institute guarantees a full refund for any class cancellations. Students must cancel 48 hours prior to the start of the course they are registered for to receive a full refund. No refunds will be given once class begins.

Life Insurance Prelicensing

The Life Insurance Prelicensing course is equipped to assist students to be adequately prepared for the State Licensing Exam through general life insurance principles for the state of North Carolina. It also provides an introduction to the business of Life Insurance and a solid foundation of basic information dealing with Life Insurance policies.

Property Prelicensing

The Property Agent / Adjuster Prelicensing course is equipped to assist students to be adequately prepared for the State Licensing Exam through general Property Insurance principles for the state of North Carolina. Casualty Prelicensing

The Casualty Agent / Adjuster Prelicensing course is equipped to assist students to be adequately prepared for the State Licensing Exam through general Casualty Insurance principles for the state of North Carolina. NASD Series 6 & 63 Review

The NASD Series 6 & 63 course is a two-part course providing applicants with intense review of and preparation for the Mutual Fund / Variable Contracts (6) and "Blue Sky Laws" (63) examinations.
